Can "Men Are from Mars, Women Are from Venus" the over 15 million copies sold worldwide help you?
The answer is not obvious how you could imagine or even if you have heard an opinion by those who have read it, I invite you to read my review.
This tremendous relationship guide written by John Gray has to be seen as a basis for those who want to discover more about themselves, and even how to manage and improve their relationship, as well.
After reading this guide I learned more about myself as a man, and how to act in a romantic relationship...and how to deal with any relationships, I build every day with others.
I suggest you read carefully this guide and apply its principle and its techniques:
- in your romantic relationship,
- in your business relationship,
- in your work-place,
- in your family,
- in your friendships,
- and those people you meet every day
I learned that as a man, I can learn how to observe myself in a relationship and how to observe the women's universe, which has its own language.
With this guide, you will able to learn how to :
- read your partner moods and respond effectively,
- get what you really need, wish, and want in your life and in your couple,
- learning how to communicate your feelings and listening actively to your partner feelings and issues,
- learning how to identify the pain of arguments
- and, understanding colleagues or friends better than ever you done before
Till now, you have read the positive side of this guide, but which is the negative side?
Here my opinion.
First of all, I want to defend this guide:
In fact, as I mentioned before, it can be used to learn the basics of a relationship, and it is a very useful tool to learn which dynamic in your couple can destroy it if you do not are aware or prevent it.
In my opinion, this book is a revelation for both men and women, but...
The author uses too many examples based on stereotypes, and this can upset those readers who are most sensitive to women or men's social roles.
For instance, in the first chapter, you can read an example, where Sue should not comment while Tom is driving, and giving him a road suggestion; because if he loses the road direction, he feels unappreciated when Sue tries to comment, instead of about the author explanation Tom feels valued and appreciates her consideration...if she does not give any piece of advice....
"The simplistic author approach could confuse many readers..."
In fact, not everything can be implemented given in this guide.
In the first part where there is a behavior difference between men and women this book is really good, but at the same time, its strategies are not applicable or easy to follow in reality, and they do not represent the solution of readers' relationship issues.
Another not positive point is there are repeating words of the same ideas and author point of views of relationships, that can be related to the past 30 or 40 decades.
So, in the end, "Men Are from Mars, Women Are from Venus" is the book, you need to read in 2021?
In my opinion, despite the author approach that can be repetitive or seems not to consider the improvement done between genders in some chapters, I wish to suggest you, read this guide, especially if:
- you have not " enough" experience understanding men or women,
- you have failed how to communicate with your partner in the past,
- you have started a new relationship or never have had a partner
This guide will help you to identify dynamics or situations that can hurt you or your partner.
Yes, definitely, this is the right way to use this guide:
understanding better yourself and the way you act in your relationship, and to identify what can destroy your relationship with your partner.
